We are looking for volunteers to operate the Public Information Center at Fort Logan National Cemetery. The Public Information Center is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30am to 3:00pm. Volunteers are needed for either a morning or afternoon shift. Volunteers will be meeting, greeting visitors, family members, veterans, and members of funeral parties. In some instances the volunteer will encounter family members or friends who are despondent over the loss of a family member or friend who was a veteran. Care, grace and tact, coupled with a sense of compassion are what is needed.

The VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System is a Joint Commission-accredited facility serving Veterans in eastern Colorado and parts of Kansas. The VA Medical Center is located in Denver, Colorado and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics are located in: Alamosa, Aurora, Golden, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, La Junta, and Lamar, CO. There are Primary Care Telehealth Outreach Clinics in Burlington and Salida, CO, an ambulatory surgical center at the Air Force Academy, a Community Living Center in Pueblo (40 beds), and along with the Department of Defense and Veteran Benefit Administration, an Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) Center at Fort Carson, CO.

The Veterans Health Administration (VHA), part of the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), is home to the United States’ largest integrated health care system consisting of 152 medical centers, nearly 1,400 community-based outpatient clinics, community living centers, Vet Centers and Domiciliaries.
