Whether you’re an expert donation organizer, a star in the kitchen, or just someone with a friendly and helpful attitude, Safe Haven needs you!
Safe Haven is a day program based out of First Christian Church (6165 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22044) that provides our neighbors in need with a wide range of support services-from hot meals, to computer access, to free haircuts.
Each Thursday, Safe Haven serves around 200 individuals and families breakfast and lunch in our community. New Hope Housing needs your help in supporting this weekly day-program to run smoothly.
Safe Haven is looking for volunteers to serve at First Christian Church on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We ask that volunteers commit to attending each week for a minimum of three months.
As a program assistant for Safe Haven, you might be...
- Sorting and organizing clothing donations
- Greeting and checking in guests as they arrive
- Helping with kitchen prep and cleanup
- Distributing food packages and other items to program participants

Description
New Hope Housing is the largest provider of shelter beds in Northern Virginia. In addition to shelter, we provide our residents with opportunities to better their lives through case management, life skills courses, recreational activities for children and adults, parenting classes, GED tutoring and our Employment Resource Center.
