Whether you have a knack for talking to people, an impeccably organized desk or closet, or just a can-do desire to pitch in and get things done, you could be a perfect shelter services and donations assistant!

Bailey’s Shelter and Supportive Housing, a 52-bed emergency shelter and permanent supportive housing program for adults in Fairfax County, needs you to support our shelter staff and ensure that all guests feel welcome at the shelter.

You will help answer phones and direct callers to the correct staff member, assist volunteers and donors that come into the shelter, work with guests that need assistance, organize donations, and more.

Volunteers are needed Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers can sign up for one or more two-hour shifts during that period (9:30 to 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.). We ask that volunteers commit to a set schedule each week and for a minimum of three months. Training will be provided on-site at the shelter.

Are you ready to get started? Fill out our online volunteer application here: http://bit.ly/NHHVolApp. In the application, you will be asked to sign up for a one-hour orientation. Orientations are held virtually twice a month, so you can find a time that fits your schedule and attend from home!

If you have any questions, please contact Bianca at bclark@newhopehousing.org or 703-578-8852.
