Join Community Volunteer Transportation Company (CVTC) Volunteer Driver program and help neighbors get to essential services. You select the driving trips that best fit your schedule, drive your own vehicle, and receive mileage reimbursement. Volunteer drivers also receive a 15% discount at Valvoline Instant Oil Change (Keene and Rindge, NH locations).

Since the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020, the total number of active volunteer drivers has decreased from 88 volunteer drivers in 2019 to 53 volunteer drivers in mid-2021. The number of riders during this same time period increased by 30% with a total of 240 neighbors receiving rides by mid- 2021. Approximately 8.5% of ride requests made from 2019-2021 were not met due to lack of driver availability.

CVTC was created as a grassroots effort to meet the growing unmet transportation needs in the region. Description

Community Volunteer Transportation Company (CVTC) addresses the unmet transportation and health access needs in the rural Monadnock Region of southwestern New Hampshire. CVTC's Volunteer Driver Program coordinates "no-fee" transportation to provide access to essential health and human services to enhance a rider’s ability to obtain, or maintain health, well-ness, and independence. CVTC’s Volunteer Drivers operate in all of Cheshire County and 11 towns in western Hillsborough County. Individuals qualify for rides if they do not have access to transportation due to age, ability, economic situation or other limiting circumstances. Eligible trips include health access: non-emergency medical and social service appointments; food access: grocery store, farmers’ market, and food bank; and personal needs: pharmacy, bank and post office.
