Event Description: The City of Raleigh/Dorothea Dix Park in partnership with Shop Local Raleigh are hosting the Falling for Local Festival at Dix Park. The event will take place on Saturday, October 16th from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The event will feature a family-focused atmosphere with food/drinks, live entertainment, kids and adult activities, so much more!
Volunteer Duties: Volunteers will support event operations as activity assistants and greeters.
Impact: Serving event attendees will create an exceptional experience at the park.
Work Environment: This event will take place outdoors and there may be a possibility of uneven ground. Volunteers will be on their feet frequently. There will be crowds and live music. There will be restrooms on site.
Volunteer Requirements: Pre-registration is required. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old. Those under 16 years of age must have a parent/guardian present. All volunteers will need to fill out a release form. Those under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian sign their form.
Other Instructions:
Snacks and drinks will be provided. Volunteers should wear cool, comfortable clothing. Additional volunteer instructions will be provided closer the event.
COVID-19 Policy:
Volunteers and staff must follow the COVID-19 policies below so that projects are safe for everyone.
- Social distancing must be practiced (6-feet between individuals)
- Everyone must wear a face mask or face shield (not provided) while within 6 feet of a person from another household
- State, federal, and local mandates must be followed
- If you have COVID-19 symptoms, please do not register
Group Registration Information:
Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. A group leader must email rachel.vannoordt@raleighnc.gov to register. All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.
Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
