Protect Us Kids Foundation safeguards youth globally from exploitation by predators who use cyberspace as a tool for harm. Through education, awareness, and technology-driven solutions, we equip young people with the knowledge and resources to stay safe online. Our collaborative approach, including training, advocacy, and strategic partnerships, focuses on fostering secure digital environments and empowering communities to combat cybercrime.

THE ROLE

Protect Us Kids Foundation (PUK) is seeking a highly motivated and visionary leader for the role of Vice President of Global Communications & Social Engagement. This is a Board-level unpaid volunteer position responsible for overseeing and advancing the Foundation’s Global Communications and Social Engagement Program. Reporting directly to the Founder, this position plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the Foundation’s messaging to promote cybersecurity awareness and combat online exploitation of children and youth.

The Vice President of Global Communications & Social Engagement will lead efforts to develop and implement strategic content management, global media engagement, and social media initiatives. This individual will also actively fundraise, leverage their professional network to secure resources, and ensure the program’s sustainability while amplifying the Foundation’s global impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Oversight:

    • Develop and lead the strategic direction of the Global Communications & Social Engagement Program, ensuring alignment with PUK’s mission and goals.
    • Oversee global content management and social media strategies to deliver effective messaging across various platforms.

2. Content and Media Management:

    • Curate and manage content across radio, television, print, digital, and social media platforms to maximize impact and positive press.
    • Collaborate with media outlets to amplify the Foundation’s messaging on cybersecurity awareness and combating online exploitation.

3. Targeted Campaigns and Messaging:

    • Design and implement targeted global campaigns to address issues such as online grooming, sextortion, cyberbullying, and online commercial sex trafficking.
    • Tailor messaging to meet the unique needs of underserved communities globally.

4. Global Media Education and Advocacy:

    • Lead efforts to educate the global media community about the online exploitation of children and youth.
    • Partner with media outlets to raise awareness and promote actionable solutions.

5. Fundraising and Resource Development:

    • Commit to a fully tax-deductible annual Board member contribution of $1,000 or more.
    • Actively participate in fundraising efforts, including identifying grant opportunities and cultivating relationships with donors and sponsors.
    • Leverage professional networks to secure funding and partnerships that support program sustainability.

6. Board Collaboration:

    • Attend quarterly Board meetings and collaborate with other members to advance the Foundation’s mission and goals.
    • Provide regular updates on program progress, challenges, and outcomes.

7. Program Evaluation and Reporting:

    • Oversee tracking of program impact, including campaign reach, media engagement, and audience feedback.
    • Facilitate reporting on content management, social media initiatives, and advocacy outcomes.

WORK EXPERIENCE

· Proven experience in global communications, media relations, or social engagement, with a preference for international or cross-cultural initiatives.

· Expertise in content management, social media strategy, or digital advocacy, particularly in addressing cybersecurity and online safety.

· Demonstrated ability to secure funding and build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including media partners and global organizations.

· Exceptional communication, program management, and problem-solving skills, with an ability to navigate cross-cultural environments.

· A deep commitment to the mission and values of Protect Us Kids Foundation, with a passion for raising awareness about online exploitation and trafficking.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· Commit to a fully tax-deductible annual Board member contribution ($1,000 minimum).

  • Actively participate in fundraising activities, including identifying funding opportunities and leveraging personal and professional networks to secure resources.

· Availability to attend monthly (12) virtual Board meetings annually and occasional events as a representative of the Foundation.

  • Dedicate approximately 8-10 hours per month to program-related activities, including collaboration with stakeholders, program development, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Represent the Foundation at events, conferences, or forums, either virtually or in person.
