Community Reach is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization founded in 2021 and is located in Central Florida. Community Reach assists homeless families in the area by providing basic needs, training, contact with local resources, and housing. Our goal is to make sure every child has a safe and permanent roof over their heads.
Community Reach is looking to expand its events planning committee. The Events Coordinator would lead the committee. There is a quick timeline as we have two events coming up. The first event is the release of our newest program on Oct. 9th in Windermere, FL. The second event is a Casino Night on Feb. 6th located Dr. Phillips area.
For the planning committee, we are looking for outgoing and dedicated individuals to solicit auction items and sponsors, coordinate and assemble auction items, plan logistics including decor and setup. These volunteers will report directly to the Events Coordinator. The bi-monthly meetings are virtual via Zoom.
Key Committee tasks (divided among the committee):
-Plans the meetings agendas and coordinate distribution
-Works with local businesses to promote events
-Works with local businesses to secure sponsors
-Promotes events to local media and on local community calendars
-Works with the Events Coordinator and Board to manage events logistics (seating arrangements, floor plan, menu/food stations, bar/beverages, lighting, A/V, staging, etc) leading up to the events and on-site during the event
-Oversees all auctions and is responsible for gathering/soliciting items from local business
-Creates and tracks the list of items (includes item descriptions, value, photos, contact information for thank you notes)
-Sets up the auction item information in mobile bidding site
-Sets up auction display at the event and oversees the action for the entire event including the closing of the auction, check out and runners, clean up at end of event and follow-up on any items not picked up by the winners
-coordinates with volunteers to assist in running the events
