Southern Maine Agency on Aging’s mission is to improve the physical, social, emotional and economic well-being of elder adults in Southern Maine.
Resource Database Support Volunteers will be in charge of contacting community providers by phone and conducting resources, services and the information being shared with clients is accurate and up to date. Individuals in this role will review the resources listed in Wellsky, SMAA's documentation and resource database, and make updates to the resource listings.
Volunteers will need good written communication skills, computer literacy (including familiarity with internet), ability to operate office equipment, ability to work and get along well with others from diverse backgrounds.
Where will the volunteer(s) work?: In-home or at the office.
When will the volunteer(s) work?: 1-2 hours/wk - flexible schedule - (Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays)
Length of commitment: 6 months minimum.
Assignment: Volunteers can begin right away after they attend a training. Volunteers can sign up directly by contacting SMAA Volunteer Services at volunteer@smaaa.org or 207-396-6525.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY!
Southern Maine Agency on Aging Volunteer Services provides opportunities to make a difference in the community through volunteer service. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, meals on wheels, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. We offer maximum flexibility and choice to our volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of the over age 55 volunteer to opportunities in selected imapct service areas to help solve community problems. RSVP volunteers receive supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where they are placed.
