Much more than an after-school program, Neighborhood Homework House is a learning center that brings hope and encouragement to the children of Azusa. How? By providing a welcoming, safe haven where children are encouraged to reach for their dreams and are equipped with the tools to realize them. We accomplish this by investing in each child through one-on-one tutoring, enrichment activities and building lasting mentoring relationships that span their childhood and teen years. Kinder-12th Program Between the months of September-May, we are looking for tutors to provide one-on-one homework assistance to the same student(s) once or twice a week for 1.5 hour sessions. Tutors choose tutoring sessions based on their availability and desired age group.

About Our Neighborhood Homework House
P.O. Box 993, Azusa, CA 91702, US
Our mission is to establish and sustain neighborhood-based learning centers in Azusa wherein at-risk children and their families are equipped to thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
ONHH provides academic, social and spiritual tools to enable students to thrive. Because of the critical importance of family and community support within neighborhoods, NHH organizes and supports a Parent Advisory Group to facilitate community action and collaboration in neighborhoods that we serve. Workshops are offered to parents in their home language in order to equip them with the tools to ensure the pursuit of higher education in their families, provide the necessities (food, clothing, housing, medical, etc.), and expand their knowledge on the U.S. education system.
The K-8 program is designed to pair tutors in 1:2 or small-group interactions to focus on academic success. The tutors serve as mentors to these students, celebrating their successes, remembering their special occasions and engaging in activities with students outside of their neighborhood.
The Neighborhood Teen Project (NTP) has been designed to challenge our growing teen population to achieve their fullest potential in high school, set career goals, prepare for college and develop the life and leadership skills necessary to achieve their goals.
