Mission Statement
The mission of the AmeriCorps Seniors Program is to provide meaningful retirement opportunities for persons over 55 years old who are income eligible and who are willing to serve a minimum of 15 hours per week. The Senior Companion or Foster Grandparent will receive a small stipend and mileage reimbursement.
Description
The Senior Companion Program volunteer assists older adults who need person-to-person support because of loneliness, illness or disability. They provide friendship, transportation and respite.
The Foster Grandparent Program volunteers provide assistance to children in local schools learn reading and math skills. They are role models, mentors and friends to our youth.
