Our next volunteer training is on Friday, November 12th @4:30pm. Also please note as of October 18th 2021 all volunteers here at therapy works must be vaccinated and we will need copy of card or form. TherapyWorks NW is a nonprofit therapy clinic serving children and their families in East Multnomah County. One kind of therapy provided is Hippotherapy where horses are used for grooming and riding in a small arena barn located at our clinic site. Weekend barn help is needed to train for a shift that would involve feeding horses either their AM or PM and ideally helping with stall cleaning and as needed other chores or maintenance that come up. At the moment weekends are a quiet time at the barn when no therapy appointments are taking place. It can be enjoyable to go and spend time doing some simple farm work for mild exercise and a break from life's normal routine. A mature minded person (could be a teen) who can work independently is a must. An individual or team with some background for basic tool use would be helpful.

Mission Statement
TherapyWorks NW mission is to provide physical, occupational,and speech therapies and hippotherapy (which is a therapy done on horseback) for children who have medical need for these services but do not have access to services due to inability to pay.
Description
TherapyWorks NW is a 501(c)3 nonprofit therapy business in east Multnomah County. We provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and the specialization of hippotherpay for children with a variety of nuerologic disabilities. We provide service both charitably and with fee for service where those resources are available. We help families find sponsorship opportunites through foundation support to help get adequate therapy when traditional resources are not available.

- This would be helping for short hours on Saturday or Sunday or both, weekly. It could be possible to job share with another interested volunteer for an every other week commitment
- 1. Need to have physical ability for light to moderate work- move a wheelbarrow with a moderate load 2. need to be free of allergy to hay, horses, cats 3. Need to have horse care experience (do not have to be a skilled rider)
