Connect Club is a group mentoring program that exists to equip, encourage, and empower students to be their best selves through connecting with themselves, peers, and adults. Connect is at local middle-high schools with volunteers who follow a curriculum of weekly small and/or large club gatherings. Volunteers serve as mentors through speaking to large groups or facilitating small group discussion. Other volunteers also teach life skills.
We need volunteers for any of the following:
- Serve as a weekly small group leader
- One time large group speaker

Description
We have 3 programs:
Community-Based Mentoring is the traditional mentoring relationship for children 6 - 17. It’s about one-to-one time spent with the volunteer and child doing things they enjoy like soccer, crafts, movies, or the park. The schedule is 1 hr/week and flexible to the needs of the mentors and children. Some meet on weekends, in the evening or after school. Through regular, consistent time together, kids gain confidence, exposure to new ideas, and respect for others while learning others care about them. Our youth live in Forsyth County and we prefer Mentors live nearby so that meeting once a week doesn't become a strain!

Mentoring After School (MAS) is an after-school, site-based mentoring program for K-5th grade ESOL students. MAS helps children who could benefit from time with a mentor to build their academic and/or social skills, offering a laid-back opportunity for volunteers and children to get to know each other. We meet 1 hour/week at various locations where we have homework help & games.
