Position Title: Office/Store Volunteer
Position Summary: Volunteer provides a positive and caring presence in the Share the Care (STC) office/store. Ability to walk, stand, reach and bend to perform simple tasks related to receiving, cleaning, sorting, inventorying, and appraising items donated by the public. Volunteer should be able to work well with the Share the Care team to do what is needed with donations and interact with the public. Willing to follow all policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Meets all application and screening requirements, including criminal background check, volunteer handbook acknowledgement and volunteer contract. Satisfactorily completes orientation and any training requirements. Willing to serve Share the Care programs without monetary compensation. Possesses effective communication skills and simple donation receiving, cleaning, sorting, appraising items. Willing to function as a supportive team member, is reliable and punctual.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates understanding of the STC mission and volunteer policies and procedures.
Ability to provide compassion and support to clients when receiving donations or providing guidance around the store. Willing to follow all infection control policies. Has a positive attitude.
Provides support to the Share the Care team. This includes customer service, doing simple processing of donations received from the public, and inventory.
Assists with general clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
Identifies and communicates issues that may affect the safe and efficient functioning of store area.
Shifts to be mutually agreed upon by the volunteer and Share the Care team. Informs STC team when coming in later or leaving earlier than agreed upon. Communicates absences via email or phone.
Notes hours on volunteer log to record hours.
Attends occasional training as needed.

Programs: We serve as an essential resource by providing tools to keep you safe and healthy at home. Yvonne's Front Porch Donation Center focusses on accepting and redistributing durable medical equipment, nutritional supplies, incontinence items, and more. We accept donations of gently used medical equipment and home health supplies that would otherwise end up in landfills, and in turn, provide these items at no cost to community members. We provide home deliveries each week to those clients that are homebound. Stop Falls Program aims to reduce the risk and fear of falling at home by conducting home safety assessments by licensed Occupational Therapists and home installations by licensed professionals. Declutter Program facilitates necessary, hands-on organizational and cleanup services to help older and disabled people living in unhealthy conditions, extreme hoarding, and who are facing eviction.

Our fall prevention program aims to reduce the risk and fear of falling by conducting home safety assessments and modifications by licensed professionals.
Additionally, we accept donations of gently used medical equipment and home health supplies that would otherwise end up in ladfills, and in turn, provide these items at no cost to community members.
Decluttering is a program we offter that facilitates a necessary cleanup service to help older and disabled people living in unhealthy conditions, such as hoarding, and threatening to be evicted.
We serve as an information resource for our older adults in the Napa Valley by providing referrals and assitance.
