Become a ReStore Donation Hotline Volunteer

Our donations hotline is ringing off the hook and we need your help! This is a remote volunteer opportunity that you can volunteer from comfort of your home! Flexible schedule!

Donations Hotline Volunteers assist the logistics team in answering phone calls, servicing donors, scheduling pick-ups and other tasks as needed. This position requires strong phone and customer service skills, as well as comfort in running multiple computer programs at one time. Extensive training is provided for this position.

Responsibilities:
* Answer donations hotline
* Follow donor information procedures to determine ability to pick up donations
* Provide donors with alternate solutions if the ReStore cannot pick up items
* Check and return voicemails
* Use Microsoft Outlook and Vonigo to record donations and schedule pick-ups
* Conduct donor surveys
* Data entry

Requirements:
* Strong customer service skills are a must
* Comfort in answering phones
* Ability to follow detailed instructions when discerning whether or not donations meet minimum requirements for pick-up (involves telling donors "no")
* Ability to manage multiple computer programs simultaneously
* Critical thinking skills
* Self-sufficient, requiring little supervision
* Ability to work in fast-paced environment
* 3-4 hour shifts desired per day within the following hours: Monday-Sunday: 10am-5pm.
* Ability to meet Donation Hotline Manager at our Milpitas Office during training period. Bay Area Based preferred.

Training:

No previous experience is required. Extensive training is provided by the Donation Hotline Manager, and a Donations Hotline manual is also provided. Volunteers are usually trained within 6-8 weeks.
