Denver Inner City Parish (DICP) is looking for regular volunteers to help support its food pantry operation. Volunteers roles are posted below:

Food Pickup Unloader (2-10 people)

Role- Help unload between 2-8 thousand poundsof food from Food Bank of the Rockies

When- Tuesdays around noon

Saturday Set Up- Client Assistant/Food Runner (2-10 people)

Role- Help set up for our Saturday distribution. Put out food, tents, chairs, and signs. Assistant clients with food selection and restocking items.

When- Saturdays 8:00-10:30

Saturday Take Down- Client Assistant/Food Runner (2-10 people)

Role- Help close out the Saturday distribution. Put food, tents, chairs, and signs away and clean up. Assist clients with foodselection and restocking items.

When- Saturdays 10:30-1:00

Saturday Sign In/Data Entry (2-3 people)

Role- Greet clients and sign them into our data tracking system. Enter new client intakes into our database.

When- Saturday 9:00-12:00

Mobile Site Volunteer (1-3 people)

Role- Would help load/unload trucks, sign-in, and help clients select appropriate quantities of food.

When- 1hr before and after each mobile distribution (3hrs total)

General Food Pantry Assistant (1-3 people) Role- Help organize and clean our food pantry. When- Any day/time Monday-Saturday

We can sign off on school or housing related community service; however, unfortunately we cannot sign off on court-ordered community service.

Description

The Denver Inner City Parish is a nondenominational, non-profit agency dedicated for the past 60 years to serving the secular and spiritual needs of West Denver's low-income community.

Our Goals
  • Education and Youth Development - focusing on education and development so at-risk youth create larger visions for their lives and become role models for future generations.

  • Hunger Relief - meeting clients’ basic needs and reducing food insecurity.

  • Health and Wellness - increasing access to and consumption of healthy foods, access to nutrition and resource education, and increasing access to active lifestyle options by participants.

  • Community Support - providing services and resource and benefit navigation support for people of all ages.
