As a Veteran, do you desire to honor older Veterans for their time and service to our nation? There are 26 million American Veterans--from many different conflicts--alive today. More than a quarter of whom die each year and many of these carry heavy burdens from wartime. Veteran volunteers can support older Veterans who are traveling the last part of life's journey by participating in Patient visitation, Pinning ceremonies, Vet-to-Vet Cafes, and At Ease ceremonies.
No previous knowledge of hospice care required. Our expert staff will train you. We Honor Veterans program is a commitment to ensure hospice care is offered with grace to every one of the veteran's we are privileged to serve.

Mission Statement
Our Mission is to offer Hospice care with Grace. Our work is grounded in the values of compassion, accountability, respect, integrity, and service.
Description
Caris, established in 2003, strives to provide the utmost quality of care when receiving our services. We understand no patient or family is the same. We create care plans based on the individualized needs of the patient and family members. Caris modifies care plans if changes occur.
Upon admission, we ask every patient: "What are the three most important things we need to know about you to provide excellent care?"These answers shape how the caregiver team provides care to enhance the patient’s quality of life. Whether a patient prefers a certain snack or wants to be called by a childhood nickname, our team witnesses how these small gestures leave memorable impressions on our patients and families. Caris patients get the utmost quality of care when receiving our services. At Caris, we understand no patient or family is the same. We create care plans based on the individualized needs of the patient and family members. Caris modifies care plans if changes occur.
We Honor VeteransProgram. Veterans may have experiences from their military service that present unique needs at the end of life. Because of these unique needs, Veterans may require specific interventions. Caris offers trained Veteran volunteers to offer "a listening ear," compassion, and honor.
