Be a part of a very important opportunity available for urgent placement in Denver. On behalf of International Medical Relief, the State of Colorado, the Colorado State Emergency Operations Center, and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, you have an opportunity to serve Denver's most vulnerable -- the growing unhoused population. Assist with medical relief, community wellness training, and daily living support. The opportunity includes training and support at Denver’s collaborative Congregate Living Shelter.

MEDICAL RELIEF, TRAINING & SUPPORT AT A CONGREGATE LIVING CENTER

Medical volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of triage, assessment, and referral processes as they take part in whole-person care. These services will be 24 hours per day. You will be able to partake in sustainable learning opportunities both within your care team and for the guests we serve. You will build health literacy while meeting people where they live. We do COVID screening and temp taking at all meals, encourage hand sanitization, and identify guests with COVID symptoms to be immediately quarentined.

We are urgently looking for volunteers to help staff the 24/7 shifts at the congregate shelter clinic. We need your help! Please consider joining us!

Thank you for your consideration. We are truly grateful for the volunteers that have reached out to us and sincerely hope that you can make the effort to join us for this very important and urgent outreach. For questions about this volunteer opportunity, please email us at office@ internationalmedicalrelief.org or call our office at 970-635-0110.

About INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL RELIEF

Location:

500 E 8TH AVE, DENVER, CO 80203, US

Mission Statement

International Medical Relief provides access to sustainable community and public health education and medical services to underserved and vulnerable communities across the globe that will improve the health, wellness, and quality of life of those populations most in need.

Description

International Medical Relief (IMR) was founded in 2002 on the belief that knowledge of basic health facts and access to healthcare should be shared by as many people as possible. We partner with local medical and dental professionals to share knowledge about diagnoses and treatment. IMR provides free medical and dental care services, treatment and diagnosis, and medicines, caring for entire communities. IMR provides basic health education. Our global education programs build a better and more sustainable response towards the communities we serve. IMR builds a better and more sustainable response through training and partnerships with several health modules. We strengthen global health capacities through classes conducted by certified trainers on a variety of medical topics. Our Disaster Area Response Teams put their compassion into action by helping survivors impacted by disasters around the world. On average, our teams hit the ground within the first week of a disaster.
