About Hesed Place

Location:

2619 Trent Rd., New Bern, NC 28562, US

Mission Statement

Hesed Place's mission is to provide progressive, personal, and community resources to survivors of severe complex trauma to maximize the potential for freedom, growth, and independence first within their life and then the community. By creating a "Trauma-Informed-Town-Within-A-Town" through the training of community professionals we offer collaborative Trauma-Informed, transdisciplinary care to those who have been severely abused.

Description

Hesed Place’s tagline is "The Whole Journey." This focus bears a double meaning: Providing best to serve the needs of The Whole Person, and... throughout The Stages of the Journey. Our focus is not serving "mass numbers" but instead the individual person, really well. We have witnessed all too often those who have suffered the most horrendous abuses struggle as they attempt to find services sufficient to meet the longevity of care needed in order to experience life as it should be, beyond merely surviving. Our hope is to walk with survivors of extreme abuse as they come to know themselves, and experience the restoration of God-given gifts they were not allowed to know because of their abusers. We have recognized what is missing, and are feverishly working to provide what is needed.

We are currently developing curriculum to offer 6 community groups (locally and virtually).

We provide direct services such as counseling and therapy, transitional community assistance, training, referral services, funding as available, and life group support (relational support) to adult survivors of severe trauma.
