The impact of a disaster can be devastating and the American Red Cross is there to help respond. But did you know, it’s also part of our mission to help people prepare? As a Preparedness Volunteer you can help educate individuals, families, and communities on actions to reduce the risk of a disaster and prepare to respond effectively and cope with disasters when they happen.

Volunteers are needed to help support:
* In-home smoke alarm installation and fire safety education visits.
* Youth programs delivered to children that provide science-based disaster education and
coping skills.
* Community preparedness education opportunities like Hands-Only CPR or providing disaster
education presentations.
* Non-client facing projects and administrative tasks.
