Do you enjoy working with adult learners? Are you interested in helping students learn English? St. Mark's is looking in-class tutors for their ESOL classes. Offering 4 levels of English, classes will be in person this fall at BC High School in Dorchester. Volunteer tutors work with the students in a small group setting to review that day's lesson. Led by a staff of paid teachers, the English instruction is tailored to each class level, and helps students improve their reading, comprehensive, and speaking skills. The tutors play a critical role helping the students practice and improve their skills.

Prior tutoring experience is not necessary as we offer training and instruction. This is a rewarding opportunity to help immigrants improve their English, so they may retain or secure stable employment and improve their digital skills. You will play a role in improving the lives of those in the community.

St. Mark's mission is to build a vibrant community where immigrants can thrive and enrich their communities by providing English and Citizenship classes as well as a network of support services. We rely on volunteers to help run many aspects of our programs and services. St Mark's encourages all volunteers to play a significant role in helping the organization thrive. The volunteer community at St Mark's is passionate, dedicated, and kind and you'll be sure to have a rewarding experience.
