ORGANIZATION: Soldiers' Angels - Atlanta

Soldiers’ Angels, in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank, provides a monthly Mobile Food Distribution (MFD) event to supplement and assist our low-income, at-risk, and homeless Veterans and their families. We typically provide 200 veterans with up to 75 lbs of food each, including meat and produce.

The MFD takes place from 9:00 am to approximately 2:00 pm.

As a Mobile Food Distribution Volunteer, you may be asked to do the following tasks:
  • Organize MFD supplies the day prior to the event
  • Set-up and tear down
    • Unload storage areas
    • Set up tables
    • Set up canopies
    • Pack food bags
  • Break down trash/boxes
  • Direct traffic
  • Check Veterans in/out
  • Bending, lifting, carrying up to 50 lbs

As a Volunteer, please remember to wear the proper protective gear based on the weather - this is an OUTDOOR event.

  • Hat, sunglasses, gloves
  • Sunscreen/block
  • Bug repellent
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Rain gear (as necessary)
  • Loose, comfortable clothing (something to easily move in)
