Mission Statement

Building solid foundations for youth in turbulent communities

Description

The Terra Firma Integration Program (TFIP) partners with children’s shelters in Greece to prepare unaccompanied refugee children for adulthood and address the social isolation and missed opportunities they have experienced. To do so, we provide a structured counseling and apprenticeship program with the following components:
A) a volunteer apprenticeship with local Greek tradesmen so that youth have an employable skill by the time they turn 18
B) regular sessions with a guidance counselor who is well versed in the experiences if unaccompanied refugee children and can help them make positive decisions
C) group workshops that build unaccompanied children's self-confidence and create a sense of community
