Join the Green Shoreline Partnership at our volunteer work parties to help create healthy forests in Shoreline's parks and natural areas! Our volunteer opportunities are based in Shoreline's parks and focus on helping to remove invasive weeds and planting native trees and shrubs. This work is important in order to establish healthy forests and greenspaces that help to combat climate change, provide habitat for local wildlife, and supply places for residents to recreate and improve their mental health.
All are welcome to attend our Green Shoreline events, no experience is necessary, and we provide all of the necessary tools and training!
You can find a full calendar of our Green Shoreline events here, and we ask that you please sign up in advance using the event links provided: https://shoreline.greencitypartnerships.org/event/map/

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
