Organization Overview: Girls on the Run of the Bay Area is a nonprofit, youth development program serving girls ages 8 - 13 in 5 Bay Area Counties. Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, hands-on curriculum which creatively integrates running. Girls on the Run of the Bay Area is a small organization of flexible, efficient multi-taskers.
Seeking: a part-time business and operations intern ready to learn the back-end logistics of running a nonprofit organization. This person will learn the skills needed to be successful and have hands-on opportunities to work on business and operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build understanding of and practice using Salesforce CRM Database
- Learn and understand how nonprofit budgets are developed and managed during the fiscal year
- Be part of the day to day operations of the organization from inventory management to data management and more
- Practice using project plans and project management tools
- Looking to gain additional experience? Let us know, we’ll work with you to build a mutually beneficial experience
Qualifications:
- Driven and motivated to learn new skills - responsibilities listed above can be learned during the internship - we’re looking for people excited to learn and contribute to the team
- Ability to manage tasks and deadlines
- Experience communicating in a professional manner
This position is remote with the optional opportunity to work and meet staff in-person in San Francisco.

We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams! Who We Are: We administer non-competitive, after-school running programs in San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, and San Mateo Counties. Our 8-week program combines training for a 5K running event with a community service project and uplifting workouts that encourage emotional, social, and physical development. Over the course of the program, girls will develop and improve competence, feel confidence in who they are, develop strength of character, respond to others and oneself with care, create positive connections with peers and adults, and make a meaningful contribution to community and society. Founded in 2002 Girls on the Run San Francisco is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Girls on the Run San Francisco is a chapter of Girls on the Run International, which was founded in 1996 and is based in Charlotte, NC. About 2000 girls participate in our local bay area programs each year.
