The National MS Society is seeking enthusiastic and responsible volunteers to work at our Bike MS: Waves to Wine event on Saturday, September 18 & 19th! This is a two day bike ride where our participants will ride up to 160 miles through the bay area while raising funds to support those living with MS. We need volunteers to help support our Riders as they participate in this fantastic event!

The medical support team is made up of volunteers who provide basic First Aid/CPR medical assistance to participants during event weekend. As a medical support volunteer, you will staff a first aid station. We provide all the supplies and a red medical support volunteer t-shirt to ensure participants can quickly identify you.

Activities Include: Providing basic first aid for cuts, scrapes, and road rash. Providing basic care for muscle pain/aches. Understanding and identifying symptoms of heat exhaustion, dehydration, and other likely conditions seen during an outdoor sporting event.

*A current FIRST AID/CPR Certification is required. Licensed medical professionals are encouraged to join us; current board certification can be accepted in lieu of a CPR certification for RN, EMS, EMT, MD, and other medical professionals, etc.

If you are interested and want to learn more the event's volunteer roles please contact Harmeet Bath, at harmeet.bath@nmss.org.

About National MS Society - California

Mission Statement

The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is to end the devastating effects of MS.

Description

Founded in 1946, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society supports more MS research, offers more services for people with MS, provides more professional education programs, and furthers more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world.

We do this through the extensive research we support to find the cause, cure and improved treatments of the disease; the comprehensive services we provide to people with MS and their families; the professional education programs we offer to assist health care providers better serve their MS patients; and through our advocacy efforts on state and federal levels to encourage public policies supportive of the needs of people with multiple sclerosis. This is why we at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society are here.

Volunteers are vital to the work of the National MS Society. We welcome volunteers with a wide range of talents and skills. There is only one requirement: to want to do something about MS NOW. Your valuable skills and fresh perspectives will make the Society a stronger and better organization. There are so many ways to contribute, whether through advocacy, programs, fund-raising or special projects. We can always use your help.
