Direct Service: Running Supplies for Rose Haven Guests
1 person is interested
Our houseless community has been greatly impacted by Covid-19. Many essential services have closed, but Rose Haven has remained open throughout the pandemic.
Supply runners are one of Rose Haven's greatest volunteer needs! In this role, volunteer works with a staff member at the front door, to provide requested supplies to our guests, generally hygiene products, clothing, mail, and outdoor supplies. Here you will act as a personal shopper for our guests, taking their order and then going inside to collect the supplies. After you have collected the items they are looking for, you will bring it to the person waiting outside.
We are following COVID-19 safety protocols by limiting the number of volunteers in the building, keeping at least a 6' distance from each other. Volunteers must do a temperature check when they enter the building. Masks are required at all times, and gloves are also available to use when working with guests.
08:45 AM to 12:15 PM
We have open shifts available Monday through Friday for this role.

About Rose Haven
627 NW 18th Ave, Portland, OR 97209, US
Our Vision: A community where everyone has safety, stability, love, health and home. Our Mission: To provide day shelter, resources, emotional support and community connections to women, children and marginalized genders experiencing homelessness and poverty.
Safety, Resources and Community:
Rose Haven is a day shelter and community center in Portland OR serving women, children and marginalized genders experiencing poverty, trauma and intersecting issues. Service hours are Monday - Friday from 9:00-12:00; and volunteer opportunities are available from 8:00-4:00.
Rose Haven is a low-barrier agency that exists not to just meet basic needs, but to nurture souls and improve the emotional, mental and physical well-being of our guests and our community as a whole. We understand our agency exists within larger systems of oppression, and we seek to disrupt those structures through radical hospitality, advocacy on an individual and community level, and meaningful connections to resources. Recognizing the isolation and loneliness that homelessness can create, we work to hold a space where all guests can connect, have voice and be empowered.
