POSITION SUMMARY

Canadian Parents for French is looking for volunteers to act as online French tutors for children enrolled in our tutoring programs available across to students between the ages to 5 to 14 anywhere in Canada. Tutors will help children by speaking in French and working to improve the child's French in conversation, reading, and writing. Volunteers must be comfortable working with young kids and in both French and English.

We are recruiting for volunteers who can dedicate 1.5 to 2 hours per week (minimum) for our fall program which runs from January 24 to June 30, 2022. Volunteers must be able to join us for the entirety of the program. Volunteers choose their own schedule each week. This program runs 7 days a week. This program will run from throughout 2021. Orientation and training (including Zoom training) provided to all volunteers. This position is virtual, and tutors will work with kids across Canada to help them maintain their French via Zoom.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong spoken and written French and English is a needed. Tutors will be working in both official languages.
  • Prior experience working with children and youth is encouraged.
  • Must have access to a computer, laptop or tablet with a microphone and camera and a steady internet connection.
