Ascend Hospice Pennsylvania is seeking compassionate individuals to join our AscEnd of Life Doula volunteer program. Our AscEnd of Life Doula program equips volunteers eager and willing to accompany the dying and their families through an intensive, practically-based model of care, preparing doulas to provide emotional and spiritual support and guidance in the final days of life. End of Life Doula certificates are awarded once classroom training and required service of 100 hours is completed. The training will be virtual, and we have patients who reside all across Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware, Chester, Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe, and Carbon Counties for you to visit.
The program is perfect for anyone (professionals, students, individuals who have retired, and all members of the community alike!) of an altruistic and empathic nature looking to help others and learn more about end of life.
***Volunteers are required to follow CDC guidelines, Ascend Hospice policy and practices, and facility requirements for infection control. At this time, we require volunteers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to protect our vulnerable population of patients.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
