Then please come and join the all-volunteer, non-profit organization, Friends of the Laguna Hills Tech Library, by becoming a Grant Writer Volunteer.

As a Grant writer you will assist with research and documentation relating to grants and foundations. This is a great opportunity to gain professional fundraising experience with a well-recognized and respected community organization.

Responsibilities:
- Research prospective grant-makers, including charitable giving history, Form 990s, and grant guidelines;
- Prioritize potential government, foundation, and corporate grant prospects;
- Writing final reports and preparing stewardship materials;
- Create and maintain grant calendar to track proposal and report deadlines;
- Evaluate response required for proposal (RFPs) and letters of intent o grants and funding;
- Coordinate budgets, reports, and other ancillary materials for grant proposals;
Communicate requirements for tracking grants including reporting requirements; writing reports; so, staff may ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations.

Qualifications:
- Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and complete multiple tasks;
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs;
- Must be detail-oriented and possess a professional and resourceful demeanor;
- The ability to work both independently and as a team player;
- Prior grant writing experience is a plus
