Hi there!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Uhuru Furniture! Your contribution goes a long way in helping black people gain economic independence!
We're looking for a Sales Assistant.
Days: Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun
Times: 11-3 (any 2-3 hour chunk of time)
Responsibilities:

  • Re-tagging furniture
  • Cross referencing inventory with the blog
  • Measuring furniture
  • Info tagging furniture
  • Cleaning, oiling, dusting furniture
  • Re-organizing collectible shelves
  • Special projects e.g stuffing NZO pillows (pillows that are designed with African fabric)
  • Tagging new products from Buy Black Power
  • Tagging new products from Fusion Paints

Description

Uhuru Furniture and Collectibles is a non-profit store that is a fundraiser for black community empowerment programs of APEDF. We receive a truck load of donated furniture and household items every day. This is a lively, popular Grand Lake area store staffed mostly by volunteers. When you volunteer at Uhuru Furniture, you not only contribute to the success of the store, you become part of a larger movement for peace through social justice. People shop at Uhuru Furniture for low priced, top quality items and to support crucial programs for social justice for African people.
