MMCC Kitchen Aide Volunteer
Under the general supervision of the Health Services Coordinator and with guidance from the contracted
Nutritionist, and the Cook, the Assistant Cook/Kitchen Aide is responsible for assisting in the up-keep of
the kitchen, planning, food preparation, cooking, clean up, and service using standardized nutritious recipes
for children.

3450 Dekalb Ave, Bronx, New York 10467

Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining records of daily food used and food service temperatures.
   Assist in ordering and maintaining the inventory of kitchen supplies and foods with
  supporting personnel.
   Assists the cook in submitting the CACFP Food Productions.
   Assist with food preparation, safe handling, and temperature control for participants’ meals.
   Responsible for cleaning the equipment and utensils in work areas, including ovens, worktables,
  mixing and slicing machines, and refrigerators/freezers in the absence of the porter/dishwasher.
  Also included are; dining room, storeroom, closets areas.
  
• Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift 15+ pounds
• Must be 16+ years old to apply
• A positive, friendly, and non-judgmental approach
• The candidate must possess a valid Food Handlers Protection Certificate issued by the N.Y.C.
  Department of Health. Basic ability to read, write and understand English, with simple arithmetic skills
  necessary for inventory and record keeping. Excellent health, ability to stand long hours, and ability to lift heavy objects.

Day & Time Commitment:

• Monday - Fridays
  Shifts: 8:00am - 12:00pm

Training Required:
Valid Food Handlers Protection Certificate issued by the N.Y.C. Department of Health. Attending a virtual volunteer orientation session, and a background check if you are 18+. https://www.efoodcard.com/
