Serve Meals at Father Joe's Villages

Father Joe's Villages

Ensure all eligible clients and residents at Father Joe's Villages have the opportunity to eat sufficient and nutritious meals by assisting in the meal service. FJV's dining rooms have been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic so meals are being plated and handed to residents/clients who have to take them to go. There is plexi-glass separating those receiving meals and volunteers.

Volunteer duties are not limited to one task and can include: serving food onto plates, covering food with foil or saran wrap, handing food through the plexi-glass, and other related kitchen tasks as requested by the chef on duty or Food Services staff. Please be mindful that sometimes volunteers are asked to switch kitchens and assist where volunteer support is needed. Meal services take place in the Joan Kroc Center and the Paul Mirable Center.

Father Joe's Villages is requiring staff, clients, and volunteers to follow CDC guidelines on mask wearing and they are continuing to practice social distancing efforts through floor signs, limited capacity, plexi-glass, etc. Homeless shelters fall under the same order as health care workers and are required to have proof of vaccination on file. FJV staff, volunteers, and vendors must meet this requirement. To comply with this order, they will need to have vaccination cards (front and back) sent to their Volunteer Services Department before volunteering.
