Penn Asian Senior Services (PASSi) is seeking volunteers to assist in the upcoming general election in Philadelphia. PASSi is committed to ensuring that the voices of Asian Americans are heard at the ballot box. We are looking for volunteers to assist with the following activities:
- Phone banking: Prior to the election volunteers will call eligible voters to encourage their participation in the election, and to ensure they know where their polling place is located.
- Assisting with mailing outreach: Assist with the creation and mailing of outreach materials.
- Assistance registering voters: Participate in events and outreach activities to register potentially eligible voters and assist voters in updating their registration.
- Canvassing: Prior to the election participate in canvassing in the East Oak Lane neighborhood of Philadelphia.
All voter outreach efforts will be performed in a non-partisan manner.

Our mission is to promote the well being of Asian American seniors and other adults who are disadvantaged by their language and cultural barriers.
Description
PASSi currently provides community based culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate adult day care in our Penn Asian Jubilee Center as well as in-home health care services to low-income elderly and disabled adult Asian Americans who reside in the greater Philadelphia metro area. In each case, our clients are ailing, disabled and disadvantaged by cultural and language barriers. Through these services, vulnerable members of Asian American communities have the opportunity to maintain healthy, dignified, independent lives and prevent premature admissions to nursing home care. For their families, this service provides peace of mind and respite from the need to fulfill filial obligations to care for elderly parents and disabled adults at all costs.
