ORGANIZATION: HOPE COMMUNITIES INC

Hope Communities provides a bi-weekly food distribution on alternate Wednesday mornings. We need volunteers to help pick up food for the distribution. An SUV or larger car is helpful. Volunteers will pick up food from We Don’t Waste and drop off at Hidden Brook Apartments prior to the food distribution. Loading and unloading help is available. Our next distribution will be held on April 20. Use this link to view and sign up.

This is an outdoor activity. Masks are required.

Pick up location: We Don’t Waste (5971 Broadway, Denver, CO 80216)
Drop off location: Hidden Brook (1313 Xenia St. Denver, CO 80220)
Date: Every other Wednesdays starting on June 1 from 9:30 to 10:30am
Number of volunteers needed: 1 drivers per distribution

Description

Hope Communities was founded in 1980 by a group of citizens concerned about the lack of decent, affordable housing in Denver. Beginning in the historic Five Points neighborhood, Hope Communities operated a single building of rental units that Denver families and individuals could afford; almost thiry years later, the organization's geographic focus has expanded to include the entire Metro Denver area, at a time where affordable housing has only become more critical.

In addition to rental housing, Hope Communities also offers an array of programs and services designed to empower residents and build community. These include adult education, youth education, health and wellness programs, case management, and events to engage the entire community.
