We are looking for individuals who have a passion for mental health awareness, enjoy giving presentations and want to use their skills to make a difference in the lives of others. Is this you? Read on!

NAMI Ending the Silence (ETS) presentations include two leaders: one who shares an informative presentation and a young adult with a mental health condition who shares their journey of recovery. Audience members can ask questions and gain understanding of an often-misunderstood topic. Through dialogue, we can help grow the movement to end stigma. Presentations are given to students, families or staff.

  • ETS presentations are 50 minutes and include a young adult presenter with lived experience.
  • Presentations are typically scheduled at local middle and high schools throughout the school year (September - May). Days and times may vary.
  • An online training is required. We’ll email you a link to the training.

NAMI In Our Own Voice (IOOV) presentations also includes two or more presenters that talk openly about what it is like to live with a mental health condition. These presentations change attitudes, assumptions and ideas about people with mental health conditions.
  • IOOV are 60-minute presentations are held openly for the public to attend and is an opportunity to hear open and honest perspectives on a highly misunderstood topic.
  • A chance to ask leaders questions, allowing for a deeper understanding of mental health conditions and dispelling of stereotypes and misconceptions.
  • Information on how to learn more about mental health and get involved with the mental health community.
  • Presentations are held year-round at need basis.
  • An online training is required. We’ll email you a link to the training.

NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI started with a small group of families in 1979 and has grown to include more than 500 local affiliates. NAMI of Delaware and Morrow Counties is one of those affiliates and we provide support groups, classes and presentations, like Ending the Silence, to the community!
