Receptionist Volunteer! (ACC Greenhaven Terrace)

Are you interested in providing excellent customer service to a community of seniors? ACC Senior Services' mission is to promote the general welfare and enhance the quality of life of our community by providing culturally sensitive health and social services for older adults. The volunteer(s) in this role have an active hand in implementing this mission by connecting callers and visitors with the appropriate resources offered by our organization.

Here's what you'll do in a typical shift:

  • Provide much needed socialization to senior residents!
  • Answer phones and direct calls, or take messages as needed.
  • Input work order requests with our maintenance department.
  • Assist with the delivery of packages and flyers to residents.

Some skills that will help you in this volunteer role are:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Have an interest in working with seniors.
  • Ability to work independently and take direction.

Schedule & Length of Commitment

We ask volunteers in this role to commit to at least one (1) 4-hour shift per week. Shifts are available in the afternoon (1:00pm - 5:00pm), Monday through Wednesday:

  • Monday 1:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Tuesday 1:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Wednesday 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Requirements to Volunteer at ACC Greenhaven Terrace

  • All volunteers are required to complete an initial phone screening with our Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 .
  • Volunteers in this position are required to complete a LiveScan Fingerprinting background check .
    • ACC pays for all volunteer background checks.
    • No volunteer is denied solely on the grounds of criminal conviction; but the date, nature, and relevance of the offense to the positions assigned may be considered.
  • Volunteers are required to watch two (2) training videos ; about Elder Abuse Prevention and Mandated Reporting, and HIPAA Confidentiality. Total duration = approximately 45 minutes. (Links provided after initial phone screening).
  • Volunteers are required to read and sign all waivers in our Volunteer Application Packet . (Provided after initial phone screening).
