ORGANIZATION: Junior Achievement Big Bend

Are you an entrepreneur or an advocate for entrepreneurship and want to inspire the next generation of leaders to discover their passion and create a business?

Junior Achievement Big Bend recruits the schools you will be working with, trains you on the JA curriculum, and supports you in leading these students to economic success every step of the way. We are looking for volunteers who are comfortable working with educators and high school students. Entrepreneurship experience is highly recommended but not required (we provide all the resources you need to teach).

JA Big Bend works with multiple high school educators in Leon, Gadsden, and Jefferson county. Because of this volunteer opportunities to teach vary. JA Big Bend will help match you with an educator and class time that best suits your availability.

Mission Statement

Junior Achievement inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy.

Description

Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs.

Our volunteer-delivered, kindergarten-12th grade programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire students to dream big and reach their potential.

JA's unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver our curriculum while sharing their experiences with students.

Through an innovative partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers, Junior Achievement helps young people connect with relevant learning and the importance of staying in school. JA students develop the skills they need to experience the realities and opportunities of work and entrepreneurship in the 21 st-century global market place.

Junior Achievement Big Bend is one of 115 JA Areas in the United States. JA Big Bend serves youth in Leon and surrounding counties.
