We are seeking a volunteer social media intern to oversee the promotion and discussion of our work across various social media platforms. Above all, our social media manager will possess passion for promoting and building peace education.

Who are are

Education for Global Peace (EGP) is an organization which is building a global network and movement that seeks to bring about a world based on cultures of peace. Following the belief that the foundation of peacebuilding is peace education, EGP is committed to developing projects and strategies on peace education at different levels worldwide.

We envision a world where nonviolence, justice, and peace characterize our interpersonal relationships, communities, cultures, societies, and states. Our mission is to foster a global transformation whereby peace education empowers children, youth, and adults in a variety of educational settings, so that they possess the knowledge, skills and attitudes to build peace in the world around them.

Our educational projects and research, and wider mission, rely on being effectively communicated to potential partners, teachers and learners, as well as policy makers. Currently, EGP is an all-volunteer organization bringing together experts and practitioners from across the globe.

The role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our global team and participate in wider peace education activities. While a volunteer role, we are a growing organization seeking funding as well as continual professional development and networking opportunities for our people. The following skills and responsibilities are an essential part of this role.

Skills

• Excellent writing skills.
• Understanding of current and emerging social media, video and audio platforms
• Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and team player.

Responsibilities

• Update social media accounts and post content
• Grow EGP’s social media channel followings
• Work directly with EGP’s Leadership Board and Project Leads as needed. Providing suggestions and contributing to brainstorming ideas.

No formal qualifications are required for this role. Evidence of the above skills, as well as demonstration of experience with similar responsibilities of this role are shown through the application process.
