What does a Play Guide do at CML?

Come PLAY with us! Play Guides enhance the exhibit experience by monitoring safety and assisting visitors as well as light sanitizing/cleaning or tidying of spaces, but, most importantly, Play Guides facilitate positive learning experiences in the Museum interactives.

Volunteers in this role are reliable, independent, outgoing, comfortable speaking with children and their grown-ups and have a desire to work with young children. Play Guides represent the Museum and are kind, professional, and courteous.

Play Guides commit to three-hour shifts that occur during operation hours (Thursdays - Saturdays from 9:30am - 5pm; Sundays from 12:30pm - 5pm). Peak hours are 9:30am - 12:30pm on weekdays and all hours during the weekend.

A background check (if 16 or older) and volunteer job orientation are required to begin. Successful completion of a Volunteer Training Session will be given for all volunteers committing to more than 3 volunteer sessions.
