We are looking for compassionate individuals willing to serve as hospice volunteers!
As a hospice volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our patients and their families or come into the office to help support our staff. We have opportunities available in the following counites in the Jeffersonville area: Clark, Crawford, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Lawrence, Orange, Scott, Washington
A patient volunteer can serve in a variety of different ways! Examples include but are not limited to:
- Providing companionship
- Reading
- Assisting with chores
- Providing spiritual support
- Mowing the lawn
- Walking the dog
- Playing games.
As an office volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our administrative staff in a safe (according to CDC Covid-19 Regulations), social distance friendly environment where you can help support in the following ways but not limited to:
- Filing patient records
- Building patient binders
- Compiling admission packets
- Building training manuals
- Copying and organizing files
- Preform "Tuck-In" Calls
We are open to hearing about any talents/services you wish to share! We also provide volunteer training free of cost at our office in Jeffersonville. So you will feel fully prepared and supported while volunteering for our clients. Our volunteers make a big impact on the lives of our patients and families. If you have a knack for organizing and an eye for detail.... WE NEED YOU!! We are so excited to meet you and have you join our team!
As of February 15, 2022 as per CMS (Medicare) mandate, we require that all volunteers who are doing direct or in person administrative volunteering be fully vaccinated according to CDC guidelines of vaccine dosage.

Description
Adaptive Hospice is a locally owned hospice company with offices located in Jeffersonville, Indianapolis, and Newburgh Indiana. The Adaptive Hospice team includes nurses, registered hospice aides, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers, all under the direction of each patient’s physician. Our services include: observation and assessment, skilled nursing care, pain and symptom management, medication management, caregiver education, guidance on end-of-life decisions, emotional and spiritual support, bereavement support and grief counseling, and assistance with activities of daily living.

- We like to see our volunteers serve at least once a month. However, we are flexible and will work with your schedule as needed! Open availability between 9am-4pm.
- We require a background check, Covid-19 Vaccine, and a 2 step TB test. The TB test will be provided at our office, and we will cover the cost for all training(s) and the TB tests.
