Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (KEEN) Chicago mobilizes a vision of an inclusive future; one with intentional community spaces that uplift youth with disabilities ages 5-21. KEEN’s mission statement is to empower youth with disabilities by providing free, non-competitive, and unstructured one-to-one (1:1) programs of exercise, fitness and fun led by volunteer coaches.
We have begun the process of re-opening in person which requires more structure than in the past in order to encourage social distancing at sessions. Therefore, we are looking for individuals with skills in particular areas of recreation who would be willing to lead our activities 1-2x each month. This could include: dance, yoga, basketball, art, music, soccer, tennis or truly any sort of recreational activity which may be new for many of our Athletes.
For in-person sessions, masks are required. Volunteers are also required to be fully vaccinated for the protection of our Athletes with disabilities.
It is also possible to fill out a volunteer application to be involved with our program without facilitating sessions. Visit our website for more information.
