Job Summary and Important Information:
The Sewing Labs works to alleviate poverty by teaching participants the skill of sewing with the goal of giving them a skill which will lead to employment and entrepreneurship. The Sewing Labs is an inclusive and welcoming community teaching the legacy of sewing for employment, entrepreneurship, and enrichment.-The Sewing Labs Mission
What You’d Do:The Communications Specialist will raise awareness of The Sewing Labs mission by creating content for all social media platforms including the website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube, among others. In addition, by creating meaningful and consistent storytelling communication for the organization. Enhance communication of our web-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to reach more donors and therefore raise awareness of our mission. Improve communication; in particular "thank you" protocols and procedures for donors and volunteers.

Description
The Sewing Labs is a community learning center that teaches the lost art of sewing towards job creation. We are partnered with employers all over Kansas City that are seeking trained sewists. We also are launching a Sewing Salon to encourage entrepreneurs who use sewing as a means to thrive.
