TNR-Trappers Needed
ORGANIZATION: Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County
Please visit the new page to apply.
We are looking for animal-loving people to join us at Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County in our Trapping Program. Our organiztion helps the homeless, vulnerable, feral, and community cats of Sonoma County to be spayed/neutered and receive medical attention. We do this through the practice of TNR- Trap, Neuter, Release. If you are looking for a way to be involved in a "hands on" capacity with these cats in need, Trapping could be for you.
-We cannot accomplish our mission unless we get cats in the door. That is where you come in.
-Trappers can work in a family/friend team, or solo.
-Are you persistent? Patient? Determined? Focused? Goal-oriented?
-Trapping assignments can take several days to a week to complete if not longer. The reward for a job comlpeted is huge!
-These cat clients are not usually considered tame. They are proud and free animals who are not used to human interaction. They may not be pets but they deserve respect, love, and good health.
-Requirements: Must be able to carry a trapped cat, have a vehicle, be 18+ years of age, able to bend/stoop/kneel to traps on the ground. Trapping assignments generally take a few days/evenings to complete. Many of our Trappers are folks who work during the day and trap after work.
-Trapping you usually happens on the night before a clinic day or early morning of a clinic day (Sunday night, Monday AM before 8:30, Tuesday night, Wednesday AM before 8:30)
-We ask all of our volunteers for a 6 month minimum commitment
When we get in touch I will schedule you for a New Volunteer Orientation call and then Trapper Training. We are so excited to welcome you to the team!
