COVID-19 Wall of Memories is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that runs a website of the same name which features a virtual memorial wall that holds the names and faces of people who have passed away from COVID-19 in this country.
We are seeking to fill positions in data entry. Our data entry process consists of two tasks:
1) Researching online obituaries. Our research associates do a standardized online search and copy and compile links to obituaries.
2) Entering the information into our database. Data entry associates enter the pertinent details from an online obituary into a standard form.
Our volunteers are required to keep in mind our core principles: Ensuring the information we share is accurate, avoiding copyright violation, and recognizing potential privacy violations. Each person whose story is on our memorial wall was special, was loved, and should be remembered with honor.
Training will take about one hour with as much additional time as needed.
We use Slack to communicate questions or comments, but managers are always available to answer questions or clarify issues.
