Volunteering with Santa Barbara Vision Care Program (SBVC) is the perfect opportunity to help those in need while also while also providing yourself with a chance to grow as an individual. When choosing to volunteer with SBVC, you will not be just another volunteer, but a valued member of our team. SEE is passionate about helping low-income and uninsured and underinsured individuals throughout Santa Barbara and Ventura County gain access to eye care. We serve a diverse population and are committed to providing quality vision care to those in-need. We are offering this volunteer opportunity that requires a unique skillset and the ability to grant you the satisfaction knowing you’re helping others. We are looking for passionate, dedicated people who are eager to make positive contributions. Bilingual Spanish a must!

  • Disinfect all chairs and counters upon arrival
  • Turn on all exam room equipment prior to the Doctors arrival
  • Take out and bring in the SBVC Easel on the sidewalk daily
  • Task voice messages into Revolution EHR, cancel/reschedule day of appointments if need be
  • Ensure all slots have been booked for the day
  • Print the daily schedule
  • Submit intake information on Revolution EHR in a timely manner
  • Translate when needed for Patients and/or Doctors (Spanish)
  • Provide Sunglasses for dilated patients
  • Submit out take information on Revolution EHR in a timely manner
  • Keep track of Vouchers provided to patients per day
  • Print Encounter Details for insured patients
  • Provide SEE Referral Application to uninsured patients when needed
  • Keep the clinic running smoothly throughout the day
  • Update the Doctors on any schedule changes
  • Keep the clinic neat and organized
  • Provide a list of low stock items to replenish on a weekly basis
  • Disinfect all chairs and counters after the last patient of the day
