Hi Bakers!

At Cake4Kids we bake and deliver birthday cakes, cupcakes, cookies, bars and brownies to foster children and at-risk youth -- and all of the baking and decorating is done by you, the volunteers! We aim to raise their self-esteem with this seemingly simple gift on their special day. We support all sorts of agencies in our community - homeless, human trafficking, domestic violence, transitional housing, and foster care. We are proud to bring our service to the Greater Boston area, serving Boston and its surrounds, including Worcester!

If you like to bake and decorate cakes, you would love to volunteer with Cake4Kids. We don't require any time commitment - bake 1 cake or 10 cakes a year...it's up to you. You choose which child's request to sign up for, based on the theme, type of dessert, and delivery time and location. When the sweets are complete, you deliver them to the local social services agency that requested them.
Note: All deliveries are to your partner agencies, Monday-Friday during business hours

It's fun and rewarding and truly the "sweetest" volunteer opportunity you can participate in.

Mission Statement

At Cake4Kids, we bake and deliver birthday cakes for foster children and at risk youth. We support all sorts of under-privileged children and youth - they might be in group homes, at a domestic violence or human trafficking agency/shelter, in low income housing with or without a parent or even homeless. We aim to raise these children's self-esteem and confidence with this seemingly simple gift on their special day. It may just be a cake, but the children we bake for know somebody took the time and effort to do something special just for them. The children realize they are important and in turn can have an impact on the world. Cake4Kids is powered by an amazing and compassionate group of volunteers. Our bakers are mostly home-bakers. There are no minimum commitments - you choose how often you want to bake a cake for us. It's pretty simple - a Cake4Kids volunteer baker chooses a cake theme from our online calendar and bakes the cake in their own home and delivers the cake to one of the agencies we serve. Our volunteers never meet the children we support, but every cake is custom-made specially for each child with love.

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Must be at least 16
  • Orientation or Training
  • It's up to you. You choose when and how often you'd like to volunteer. All baked goods must be delivered during business hours, Monday-Friday.
  • All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Teen volunteers 16-17 years old are required to volunteer with a parent/guardian. Volunteers bake AND deliver; deliveries need to be made during business hours, Monday-Friday.
