Fort Worth Aviation Museum is hosting Hops and Props 2024, our annual Veterans Recognition and Craft Beer Festival fundraiser, from 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024, and we hope you will participate!
We'll have veterans’ support organizations, military re-enactors, aircraft rides, and beer flights, on which craft brewers serve beer on board the actual flight. Flights will be on World War II era vintage aircraft.
Once again, we’ll have live music, our popular family area, family-friendly vendors, and this year we’ll have expanded food choices. The event will be held outside and set up in small tents or canopies around our 32 stationary aircraft. Along with the vendors, music, and food, people come from all over to see our aircraft up close! We anticipate 2,000 - 2,500 visitors at Hops and Props 2024!Fort Worth Aviation Museum needs volunteers to staff the concession stand, the outdoor PX (Merch), the VIP tent, the parking lot, and the Admissions Gate. We also need volunteers to help set up in the morning, monitor and help on the ramp during the day, and help clean up and stow equipment at the end of the day.
Volunteers will receive a Hops and Props STAFF t-shirt and a beer tasting ticket discount - full day volunteers will receive free lunch.
It's a busy, fun-filled day, and we'd welcome your participation! Shifts are somewhat flexible, but our greatest need is during the afternoon.

Mission Statement
"Giving Wings to Youth and Community through, education, inspiration and our aviation roots."
Description
Fort Worth Aviation Museum is an aviation history museum and air park located on historic Meacham Airport in Fort Worth, Texas. We feature 26 of the most touchable military warbirds in Texas on static display. We provide free guided tours through our museum and air park by knowledgeable docents, many of whom are veterans. We also offer tailored programs for youth, seniors, and other groups.
We rely on donations, our museum admission fee, and the profits from a small gift shop to cover our operational costs. In addition, groups are able to rent our facility for special events. We are a Blue Star Museum and offer free admission to active military personnel year-round.
We had over 10,000 visitors to the museum in 2017 and our outreach to community totaled over 82,000 connections to our programs. We also have an active aircraft restoration program. No experience needed, our volunteers include many retired military aviation technicians who are glad to have help and teach their skills. Managing our collection and maintaining our displays are ongoing activities under the direction of our museum professional operations director.
Although we are a professional, rapidly growing museum, celebrating our 20th anniversary, our volunteers are family and make our museum a fun place to meet and share our stories and programs with our visitors, young and old.
