The program at Mooncrest Community Center matches adult volunteers from the community with students. The program seeks to provide students with a caring adult Mentor and role-model. The program meets twice a month for approximately 45 minutes during the school year. Each program is led by a Site-Coordinator who plans the activity for the session. We will follow all CDC guidelines and organization protocols regarding COVID19.

Program Logistics:

Mooncrest Community Center - every other Monday at 3:45 - 4:45 or 3:20 - 4:20

Description

For more than 40 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh has been recognized as the premier mentoring organization in the region. Since 1965, we have matched more than 13,000 children with responsible, caring adult mentors. Preventative in nature, our program unites the agency staff, volunteer mentors, and parents/guardians who work together to deter the occurrence of problematic behaviors in children before they are able to take root. Through role modeling, guidance and friendship, our volunteers fill a void for children who are critically in need of stable and supportive bonds with caring adults.
