As the Kimiya International Volunteer Grant Writer, you will research prospective funders and find organizations that would be interested in our project. The applicant will follow the funding agency’s written guidelines when creating the proposal and submitting the proposal application by the deadline. This position requires someone who has excellent research, writing, and communication skills, is self-motivated, reliable, organized, thorough and timely. This is a volunteer position.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform research on prospective foundations and donor corporations.
  • Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.
  • Coordinate and follow-up on the progress of submitted proposals
  • Lead proposal generation process and response to RFPs, Pre-Qualification, Bidding and formal presentations.
  • Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.
  • Write and maintain correspondence including concept notes, proposals, reports, and introductions.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in research and grant writing; nonprofit experience a plus
  • Knowledge of fundraising information sources.
  • Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors.
  • Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized
  • Clear, precise and compelling writing skills
  • Motivated self starter with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
  • High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Time Commitment/Location:

  • 5 hours/week
  • Remote work
  • Opportunity for in-person work, if desired

About Kimiya International and Fight Club

Kimiya International is a 501(c)(3) focused on Human Rights advocacy through documentary filmmaking and programming.

KI developed Fight Club to address access, affordability and negative stigma surrounding post-trauma mental health and self-care. Our holistic program combines boxing, yoga and counseling for women who are survivors of trauma.

Kimiya International is a 501(c)(3) focused on human rights advocacy through documentary filmmaking and programmatic therapy. Our award-winning documentary, Transitions, tells the story of an American family that moved to Cambodia to transition young girls out of brothels. Our current project follows the stories of Syrian refugee orphans. But we wanted to also address the pain that people suffer as a results of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
