Importance of Position:
Much of the financial support of YOUNG AFRICAN WOMEN INITIATIVES (YAWI) is provided through corporate, philanthropist, and foundation grants. YAWI is looking for a motivated individual to assist with developing and writing grant proposals to grant-making organizations and philanthropist that will persuasively communicate our mission and programs to potential funders.
Qualifications:
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Reliable
- Organized
- Attention to detail
- Desire to support YAWI staff
Reports to:
Executive Director
Responsibilities:
- Assemble/submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentation
- Conduct prospect research
- Maintain a respectful relationship with clients, staff, and other volunteers
- Other duties as assigned

Young Africa women initiative (YAWI) is a legal entity based in Nakuru Kenya. YAWI is a woman led organization which was founded in 2012 YAWI is registered with the NGO board of Kenya. The purpose of the organization is providing frontline services to meet the needs of women, children and girls facing multiple disadvantage across more strands of gender- based violence.
